IT IS A RELATIONSHIP - PART 2

“Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.” (Matthew 22:37)

I understand now, why we have so much trouble, even in the secular world, with this thing called A RELATIONSHIP. Making one work even in the secular world doesn’t work as evident by the high divorce rate in this country, it is estimated in one year alone 55 to 60 percent of all marriages (even in church) wind up in divorce. Yet, the missing ingredient, the key, is so simple that it is right before our eyes and we miss it.

Diagnosing the problem is very simple, to quote a phrase from author Sir Arthur Conan Doyle; “It is elementary, my dear fellow”. Having friends costs you nothing. Think about it, one can have a loose association of people at various levels of intensity, and call them friends, yet you never have to give anything in return to keep that relationship going. A phone call here, an E-Mail or text message there, with out giving any of yourself to them can keep a chain of “friends” going for the rest of your life. The same goes for acquaintances, or even relatives, indeed, some of those cost even less of you. But a relationship, that is the highest of bonds God ever made for this people planet. And it is such because it requires, yea demands, that you give or “sacrifice” something dear, something deep, something intimate of you, reciprocated both ways, to work.

Having a relationship means sometimes saying your sorry, when you did nothing wrong. Having a relationship means I don’t do what I want to do, all the time. Having a relationship with someone else means I promise to no longer think of me first, put me first in my wants, think of me as “number one”, but I take a back seat to the needs of my wife, my husband, and yes you guessed it, my God whom I proclaim I serve. How can you say you love your wife, when you spend more quality time in front of that TV watching football? Wife, how can you say you love your husband, when you secretly do the things that hurt him, and make him feel bad because you think he just doesn’t love you, and all the while you never talk to him about it?

And yes, Christian, how can you stand in church on Sunday, proudly proclaiming you have a relationship with Jesus Christ, when you spend hardly any time in the closet of prayer, and your life thru the week would reflect more of Saul of Tarsus than Paul the Apostle? Look at our reference above, Jesus commanded us to love God with everything we have. It takes:

1. OUR HEART
2. OUR MIND
3. OUR SOUL
4. OUR WANTS AND NEEDS SECOND
5. OUR FINANCES – WHEN IS THE LAST TIME YOU TITHED?
6. OUR TIME
7. OUR BODIES – YES, LIVING HOLY IS A COMMAND!

Simply put, the reason so many divorces happen in the church, in the world is the price of a relationship is not free, it costs us, and we in our selfish nature do not want to give up that kind of control in our lives. We are no different than the man who had his goods increased, and wanted to build more barns to hoard all the stuff he had to himself. God is tired of our half-hearted worship, our second rate giving, and our putrid sacrifices. And he is sending on this Earth persecution and tribulation, and you, dear reader will see more of it than what you have been told. But it is for a purpose, for God wants to see if you will chose him as a friend, or as a lover in a relationship to the death. Please reader, today, make the decision to have a relationship with Christ, keeping a list of do’s and don’ts wont save you, there are people in Hell who did it. Your denomination won’t qualify you for loving God, there will be people in Hell who thought joining one would save them. The reason you will leave here when Jesus comes again, the reason he will take you, is because he knew you, and that only come from a relationship.

THE SECRET CLOSET (IT'S A RELATIONSHIP - PART 1)

“Thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut the door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly” (Matthew 6:6).

In the past I’ve taught that because of the demands of making a living, we may have a “secret closet of prayer” anywhere: in the car, on the bus, during a break at work. In measure, this is true. But there is more to it. The Greek word for “closet” in this verse means “a private room, a secret place.” This was clear to Jesus’ listeners, because the homes in their culture had an inner room that served as a sort of storage closet. Jesus’ command was to go into that secret closet as an individual and shut the door behind you. There you will enter into the kind of prayer that cannot happen in church or with a prayer partner.

Jesus set the example for this, as he went to private places to pray. Over and over Scripture tell us that he “went aside” to spend time in prayer. No one had a busier life, as he was constantly pressed by the needs of those around him, with so little time to himself. Yet, we are told, “In the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed” (Mark 1:35). “When he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone” (Matthew 14:23).

We all have excuses for why we don’t pray in secret, in a special place alone. We say we have no such private place, or no time to do it. Thomas Manton, a godly Puritan writer, says this: “We say we have no time to pray secretly. We yet have time for all else: time to eat, to drink, for children, yet not time for what sustains all else. We say we have no private place, but Jesus found a mountain, Peter a rooftop, the prophets a wilderness. If you love someone, you will find a place to be alone.”

Do you see the importance of setting your heart to pray in a secret place? It is not about legalism or bondage, but about love. It is about God’s goodness toward us. He sees what’s ahead and knows we need tremendous resources, daily replenishing. All of that is found in the secret place with him.

ARE YOU LIKE NOAH?

“For yet seven days, and I will cause it to rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights; and every living substance that I have made will I destroy from off the face of the earth.
And Noah did according unto all that the LORD commanded him.” (Genesis 7: 4-5)

Most of us have read the story of Noah and the Ark. As a child we are taught the story of how God had decided to destroy all living things on land with one huge worldwide flood. We are made to understand that man had reached a “fullness” level of sin and apathy toward God, even to the point of totally ignoring him in every thought and action in life. And how God looked all over the Earth and the level of sin and apathy made him sorry in his heart he had ever made man.

I can imagine, how in that moment, God began to raise his hand to strike the Earth once and for all, and, as he had his mighty hand in mid-air, his eyes came across a beautiful sight, Noah. It seems this one lone man was still thinking about God, still walking right and talking right, holy before the Lord. The Bible says this; “But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.” (Genesis 6:8). Basically put here, Noah’s righteousness (obeying and living in the submission to God in his life) caused him to find grace (Favor) with God, sparing his life and the life of his family from destruction. Please focus on this, it was Noah, obeying the call of God, walking in fellowship with God, before God decided to stretch out his hand to destroy, that saved him, NOT the ark.

Let me say that again, it is most important you understand this. Noah, deciding to live for God and do the things that please him, long before the danger came, before God finally said “The end of all flesh is come before me”, that is what saved him and his family, not his obeying the call to build the ark. You see dear reader, had he not already been living for God, he would have never gotten the call. Why would God have saved him, had he been as sinful and rotten as everyone else? Look at our scripture reference today, because somewhere down the line, in Noah’s life, he made a decision to follow God wholeheartedly early on, he found grace with God, received the call to build the ark, and seven days early as well, went into the ark before the flood came and killed every living thing on land.

Dear reader, God’s timing is NOT our timing. And I proclaim to you now, the call to go into the “ark” of today (Christ’s rapture of the church) will come not only when you least expect it, but in a time and in such a way that only those who have prepared themselves NOW will time it just right to be ready to leave. Let’s be honest, God sees all, there is nothing hid from him. Ask yourself a question, if God looked down right now, would I find grace is his eyes? Would he tell me to build an ark because he saw me doing the things that are righteous, pleasing him with my life and heart? Or would I end up being one of the ones clawing and scratching at the ark door, while the rains came and I drowned with the rest of the crowd? You know where you stand with God; I pray if you are not ready, you make that decision now, before it is too late.

WHY IS TODAY SO IMPORTANT?

We hear many ministers talk about the end today. Even on this ministry you have seen us begin to warn you of the coming Judgment of God and how you MUST be prepared. Does it ever occur to you why we are saying such things? Does it make you wonder, why this time and age is different than the rest? And, what makes us closer to the end than any other time in history?

The Bible records these words: “Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh” (Matthew 24:32). Jesus, speaking here, begins to give a parable to his disciples after a long discourse of signs pointing to the end of the world and his 2nd coming. He then gives the parable of the fig tree. This tree, in winter time, looks no more special, or different, than any of the other trees in winter time, and, cannot be distinguished as a fig tree just by mere looks than the rest of the trees. But, as summer time approaches, and the buds on the limbs begin to show, we then, and only then, can discern two things:

1. That this is a fig tree, not just any other tree.
2. Summer time is soon approaching.

I proclaim to you, this morning that the FINAL summer time is soon upon you. Read your Bible today, and not let it continue to be a “prop” on your shelf, and open its pages to Matthew 24. There you will find startling evidence that the end is creeping up upon you like a thief in the night:

Jesus said these things WILL happen when his “summer time” (The second return of Christ) will be upon us:

1. Wars and rumors of wars
2. Famines (Severe lack of food for everyone)
3. Earthquakes
4. Pestilences (Weird and powerful diseases)
5. Men will begin to hate one another without a cause
6. Men and women will leave their natural affection for one another (Homosexuality)
7. This Gospel will be preached in all the nations.

CAN YOU SEE IT MY FRIEND?

Jesus told us in Matthew 24, and in many other passages, that these signs would be happening at the beginning of the down hill run to his return! Let me explain it this way, Jesus taught us the above signs would be present when the “past the point of no return” run would be happening, signaling he was on his way back to earth, and no amount of pleading or evil activity could stop it. Here is what separates us from other times in history, from other ministers in the past proclaiming the end is near, IT IS THE SIGNS PROCLAIMED BY OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST BEING FULLFILLED BEFORE YOUR EYES! Remember the fig tree; you know summer is approaching, are you ready?

I leave you with this passage: “Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not” (Luke 12:40). Jesus has given us signs that his coming is soon, and all those who have made their self ready from the world and sin will be going with him. All those left behind will suffer eternal damnation separated from God, in pain and torment. But these signs won’t give you “Insurance” when to get ready in the nick of time, on the contrary, even with these signs, Jesus’ return to earth will happen when people least expect it. Those banking on “living it up” till just the right time to get in WILL be caught un-ready. Are you ready for summer? Can you see today is different than times past. The signs are happening right before your eyes. I beg you today reader, check yourself, make sure everything is in order with you and Jesus. Don’t let summer catch you like a thief, you will not have a second chance.

EVER PRESENT HELP

God has promised us, “In your time of trouble—when you face a persistent, ever-present evil—I will be your ever-present help” (see Psalm 46:1).

The phrase “ever present” means “always here, always available, with unlimited access.” In short, the abiding presence of the Lord is always in us. And if he’s ever present in us, then he wants continual conversation with us. He wants us to talk with him no matter where we are: on the job, with family, with friends, even with non-believers.

I refuse to accept the lie Satan has thrust upon so many of God’s people today: that the Lord has stopped speaking to his people. The enemy wants us to think God has allowed Satan to grow in power and influence, but that he hasn’t equipped his own people with greater authority. No, never! Scripture says, “When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him” (Isaiah 59:19). It doesn’t matter what the devil brings against us. God’s power in his people will always be greater than Satan’s assaults.

This verse from Isaiah actually refers to the flag-bearer who rode ahead of Israel ’s army. The Lord always led his people into battle behind his own mighty standard. Likewise today, God has a glorious army of heavenly hosts who ride forth under his banner, ready to execute his battle plans on our behalf.

You may ask, “So how does God bring us help in our troubles?” His help comes in the gift of his Holy Spirit, who dwells in us and works the Father’s will in our lives. Paul tells us again and again that our body is the temple of the Holy Ghost. We are the Lord’s dwelling place on earth.

Of course, we repeat this truth often, in our worship and testimonies. Yet, many of us still don’t take it seriously. We simply don’t understand the power that resides in this truth. If we did grasp it and trust in it, we would never again be afraid or dismayed.

I certainly haven’t laid hold of this lesson fully. Even after all my years as a minister, I’m still tempted to think I have to work up some emotion in order to hear from God. No, the Lord is saying, “You don’t have to spend hours waiting for me. I abide in you. I am present for you, night and day.”

Listen to David’s testimony: “I will bless the Lord, who hath given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night seasons. I have set the Lord always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved” (Psalm 16:7-8). David is declaring, “God is always present before me. And I’m determined to keep him in my thoughts. He faithfully guides me day and night. I don’t ever have to be confused.”

PULLING BACK THE CURTAIN - PART #2

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. (Ephesians 6:12)

I want to focus on this verse today. I believe we as christians, and the world of organized church, has failed in preaching and teaching this to today's generation.

The Apostle Paul here begins to set up the principle that what we fight - is in the spiritual realm

Our weapons that we use to get victory and keep victory - is in the spiritual realm.

Government leaders, politicians, and world governments are being controlled by beings - in the spiritual realm.

And, if we study Paul's teachings in depth, we will find he is telling us the REAL REALITY is in this realm. What we see here on this earth is a mirage, an image that will fade away and has no eternal substance to it. There is coming a day, very soon, when the owner of this universe, GOD, will bring time and all this stuff we see and touch to an end. He will wipe it clean and create a new heaven and earth that will not pass away ---- "And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea." ( Revelation 21:1)

Yet we live like this world will stand forever. We in the church get mad at our brothers and sisters without a cause, because they have "hurt" our feelings, and we make them our enemy when it is really Satan pulling the strings. Because we have a "curtain" over our eyes that we can't easily see the spiritual realm, we fall victim to being controlled by the beings that live there, namely demons and devils, like puppets and turn on our church family, church leaders, and even God while they stand back and laugh at our division in our church.

I pray today, as Elijah prayed for his servant, that your eyes will come open again. I pray that you will begin to see and feel this real world working all around you. I pray you begin to live and walk like one who is at war, because reader you are whether you want to be, or not. I pray you begin to get into God's word, pray, and fast to get into the protection of God for your life. This is a war to the death, spiritual and physical.

Satan plays for keeps. He will stop at nothing to destroy you. And one of his greatest weapons is IGNORANCE. "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge:" (Hosea 4:6) As long as you forget what I am telling you, or refuse to believe, he has his hooks on you, he controls you.

Make a choice today, to begin to pick up your weapons, to give God all in your life and ask him to take control of you 100 percent. We will explore further in part 3 our weapons and how we use them. But I beg you reader, make your choice now, time is running out.

PULLING BACK THE CURTAIN

Do you realize that there is another world around you?

Do you realize that this world, and everything you see in it, is not the real world. No, this world is what the Bible calls "Temporal" or temporary. This means that what we see and all the trinkets and treasures in it will pass away.

Their is coming a day when all the things we see and have will fade away. And that day will be when Jesus Christ comes again.

Yet we live like this world will stand forever. We hold on to, and fight to keep things, of this world like we will keep them for eternity.

Your 52" TV will pass away.
Your 401k will pass away.
Your bank account will pass away.
Your medicine will pass away.

Can you not see! their is another world, the one that will last, that is the real world. It is the realm that Angels live, that Demons dwell and that the Spirit of God is working in. I am talking about the "Spiritual Realm".

Our leaders in Government do not really rule us, it is those beings living in this realm that are pulling their strings. It is not your brother or sister that you fight against, it is the beings called demons that live in this realm that are your enemy. We must begin to understand in the church again that this realm does exist, and that our weapons to fight are their, in this realm.

listen to me, if any minister or pastor tells you that this realm does not exist, or he never preaches about this realm to instruct and inform you, that minister or pastor is a devil in christian clothes and will cause you to be decieved. Get away from this man and this church!

Listen to the words of the Bible:

While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal. (2 Corinthians 4:18)

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. (Ephesians 6:12)

When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick:
(Matthew 8:16)

And so many more in your Bible that shows us this world is the real world. It is where Demons and Devils pull the strings and influence world leaders and nations. It is where Angels guard for the children of God. It is where the Spirit of God is moving to help us and lead us Jesus, and make us more like him.

Wake up reader, you are being influenced as well. Your strings are being pulled like a puppet on his master's lap. Which one is pulling yours?

GOD USES PEOPLE

God uses people to refresh other people. He so loves this kind of ministry that he moved the prophet Malachi to speak of it as a most-needed work in the last days. Malachi described how, in his day, God’s people built each other up through one-on-one edification: “They that feared the Lord spoke often one to another” (Malachi 3:16).

When did this happen, exactly? Malachi’s words came during a time of rampant ungodliness, when the “devourer” had destroyed much fruit in the land. God’s people had grown weary and started to doubt that walking with the Lord was worth it. They thought, “We’re told it pays to serve the Lord, obey his Word and carry his burdens. But as we look around at the proud and the compromisers, they’re the ones who seem happy. They’re pursuing prosperity, living carelessly, enjoying life to the fullest.”

The Holy Spirit began to move in Israel, and soon the fear of the Lord came upon a God-hungry people. Suddenly everyone in Israel, young and old, became one-on-one missionaries. By the Spirit’s prompting, people opened up to one another, edifying each other and building up and comforting those around them.

I’m convinced Malachi’s word about this ministry is a mirror image of the present day. He has given us a picture of an outpouring of the Holy Spirit in the last days, as God’s people stop gossiping and complaining and instead minister refreshing. It’s happening by phone, by letter, by e-mail, and face to face. And God is so pleased with this ministry, we’re told he writes everything down. Every kind word spoken, every call made, every letter written, every effort to comfort the downcast is recorded in a “book of remembrance.” And the Bible says each of us whose deeds are written down will be precious to him: “They shall be mine, saith the Lord of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels” (Malachi 3:17).

Be a Titus to someone who’s downcast in spirit. Pray to have the spirit of Onesiphorus, who sought out the hurting to bring them to healing. Think of it: You’ve been given all the power of heaven to refresh a hurting believer, someone who needs the consolation that God has given uniquely to you. Yes, there are people who need you and the Lord intends your past consolations to bring refreshing to them. Call that someone today and say, “Brother, sister, I want to pray for and encourage you. I’ve got a good word for you.”

ACCESS TO GOD

I sought the Lord in prayer and I asked him, “What is the most important aspect of your making us your temple?” Here’s what came to me: access with boldness and confidence.

Paul says of Christ, “In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him” (Ephesians 3:12).

In the Jewish temple, there was very little access to God. In fact, such access was available only to the high priest, and then only once a year. When the time came, the priest entered God’s presence in the temple with fear and trembling. He knew he could be struck down for approaching the mercy seat with unforgiven sin in his heart.

Today God has emerged from that small, restricted room. And he has come directly to us in all our disgrace and corruption. He tells us, “I’ve come to live in you. You don’t have to hide your filth and despair from me. I’ve chosen you because I want you and I’m about to turn your body into my home, my dwelling place, my residence.

“I’ll send my Holy Spirit, who will sanctify you. He’s going to clean and sweep out every room, to prepare your heart as my bride, but that’s not all. I’m going to seat you right next to me and I’ll urge you to come boldly to my throne, with confidence. You see, I want you to ask me for power, grace, strength, everything you need. I’ve brought heaven down into your souls, so you can have access to it all. You’re rich, yet you don’t even realize it. You’re an heir to all my glory.”

The sole reason your body is holy is because the Holy Ghost lives there. And it’s kept holy only by his continual presence and power. You can’t do it. You’d become a nervous wreck just trying to guard all the entrances. You’d get discouraged when you failed to keep out all the dust and filth that blows in. You’d get weary by running from room to room, sweeping and polishing, trying to make things look good.

Every Christian ought to rejoice in this fact: God is in you! And he is with you always, so who can be against you?

BE READY

In Matthew 24 Jesus uses a parable to teach about being ready for his return: “Be ye also ready: for in such an hour as you think not the Son of man cometh. Who then is a faithful and wise servant, who his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season? Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing. Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods.

“But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; and shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken; the lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of, and shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth” (Matthew 24:44-51).

Note that Jesus is speaking about servants here, meaning believers. One servant is called faithful and the other evil. What makes the latter evil in God’s eyes? According to Jesus, it’s something he “shall say in his heart” (24:48). This servant doesn’t voice such a thought and he doesn’t preach it. But he thinks it. He has sold his heart on the demonic lie, “The Lord delays his coming.” Notice he doesn’t say, “The Lord isn’t coming,” but “he delays his coming.” In other words, “Jesus won’t come suddenly or unexpectedly. He won’t return in my generation.”

This “evil servant” is clearly a type of believer, perhaps even one in ministry. He was commanded to “watch” and “be ready,” “for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh” (Matthew 24:44). Yet this man eases his conscience by accepting Satan’s lie.

Jesus shows us the fruit of this kind of thinking. If a servant is convinced that the Lord has delayed his coming, then he sees no need for right living. He isn’t compelled to make peace with his fellow servants. He doesn’t see the need to preserve unity in his home, at work, in church. He could smite his fellow servants, accuse them, hold grudges, destroy their reputations. As Peter says, this servant is driven by his lusts. He wants to live in two worlds, indulging in evil living while believing he’s safe from righteous judgment.

THE LIES OF THE ENEMY

In our times of trial and temptation, Satan comes to us bringing lies: “You’re surrounded now and there is no way out. Greater servants than you have quit in circumstances no worse than this. Now it’s your turn to go down. You’re a failure, otherwise you wouldn’t be going through this. There’s something wrong with you and God is sorely displeased.”

In the midst of his trial, Hezekiah acknowledged his helplessness. The king realized he had no strength to stop the voices raging at him, voices of discouragement, threats and lies. He knew he couldn’t deliver himself from the battle, so he sought the Lord for help. And God answered by sending the prophet Isaiah to Hezekiah with this message: “The Lord has heard your cry. Now, tell the Satan at your gate, ‘You’re the one who is going down. By the way you came here, you will also go out.’”

Hezekiah had very nearly fallen for the enemy’s trick. The fact is, if we don’t stand up to Satan’s lies—if, in our hour of crisis, we don’t turn to faith and prayer, if we don’t draw strength from God’s promises of deliverance—the devil will zero in on our wavering faith and intensify his attacks.

Hezekiah gained courage from the word he received, and he was able to say to Sennacherib in no uncertain terms: “Devil king, you did not blaspheme me. You liked to God himself. My Lord is going to deliver me. And because you blasphemed him, you will face his wrath!”

The Bible tells us that God supernaturally delivered Hezekiah and Judah on that very night: “It came to pass that night, that the angel of the Lord went out, and smote in the camp of the Assyrians an hundred fourscore and five thousand: and when they arose early in the morning, behold, they were all dead corpses” (2 Kings 19:35).

Believers today stand not just on a promise but also on the shed blood of Jesus Christ. And in that blood we have victory over every sin, temptation and battle we will ever face. Maybe you’ve received a letter from the devil lately. I ask you: Do you believe God has the foreknowledge to anticipate your every trial? Your every foolish move? Your every doubt and fear? If so, you have the example of David before you, who prayed, “This poor man cried, and the Lord delivered him.” Will you do the same?

PEACE AND THE HOLY SPIRIT

On whom does Jesus bestow his peace? You may think, “I’m not worthy of living in Christ’s peace. I have too many struggles in my life. My faith is so weak.”

You would do well to consider the men to whom Jesus first gave his peace. None of them was worthy, and none had a right to it.

Think about Peter. Jesus was about to bestow his peace on a minister of the gospel who would soon be spewing out cursings. Peter was zealous in his love for Christ, but he was also going to deny him.

Then there was James and his brother John, men with a competitive spirit, always seeking to be recognized. They asked to sit at Jesus’ right and left hand when he ascended to his throne in glory.

The other disciples were no more righteous. They simmered with anger at James and John for trying to upstage them. There was Thomas, a man of God who was given to doubt. All of the disciples were so lacking in faith, it amazed and stressed Jesus. Indeed, in Christ’s most troubling hour, they would all forsake him and flee. Even after the Resurrection, when the word spread that “Jesus is risen,” the disciples were slow to believe.

But there’s even more. These were also confused men. They did not understand the ways of the Lord. His parables confused them. After the Crucifixion, they lost any sense of unity they had, scattering in all directions.

What a picture: These men were full of fear, unbelief, disunity, sorrow, confusion, competitiveness, pride. Yet it was to these same troubled servants that Jesus said, “I am going to give you my peace.”

The disciples weren’t chosen because they were good or righteous; that much is clear. Nor was it because they had talent or abilities. They were fishermen and day laborers, meek and lowly. Christ called and chose the disciples because he saw something in their hearts. As he looked into them, he knew each one would submit to the Holy Spirit. At this point, all that the disciples had was a promise from Christ of his peace. The fullness of that peace was yet to be given to them, at Pentecost. That’s when the Holy Spirit would come and dwell in them. We receive the peace of Christ from the Holy Spirit. This peace comes to us as the Spirit reveals Christ to us. The more of Jesus you want, the more the Spirit will show you of him—and the more of Christ’s actual peace you will have.

THE LORD'S DAY

By A.W. Tozer.

Another Latin hymn dating back to the sixth century begins,

"Welcome, happy morning!" age to age shall say; Hell today is vanquished; Heaven is won today.

Lo! The Dead is living, God for evermore! Him, their true Creator, all His works adore.

This sets forth the theological reason behind the joy of Easter. Christ was dead, but His death was not an accident; neither was it the result of sickness or age. He died to vanquish hell and win heaven for men. Christ was dead, but He is not dead now. Lo! the Dead is living! And how can believing men keep silent?

No Bible-taught Christian can allow himself to live in bondage to days and times and seasons (Colossians 2:16–17; Romans 14:4–10; 2 Corinthians 3:5–18). He knows he is free from the Law, and the Judaizing brethren who seek to rivet a yoke on his neck will not have much success. But he nevertheless appreciates the value of one day in seven to devote to prayer and praise. And since Christ arose from the dead on the first day, the Bible-loving man will see the spiritual appropriateness of the first day as the Christian’s voluntary sabbath day.

BIBLICAL TRUTH MUSICALLY PROCLAIMED

By A.W Tozer

No other event in the history of the world has brought forth such a full chorus of song as the resurrection of Christ from the dead. More music has issued from Joseph's empty tomb than from all the concert halls of the world since the dawn of the first civilization. The resurrection was the fact. Hymnody is the response of faith to that fact.

The story of Easter might be told in some fullness of detail by merely stringing together in their proper order lines and verses from our classic hymns. Take for instance the restrained but intensely joyous Latin hymn,

The strife is o'er, the battle done; Now is the Victor’s triumph won;

Now be the song of praise begun—Hallelujah!

There we have pure theology, with an exhortation and an exclamation added. The rest of the hymn develops the doctrine further:

The powers of death have done their worst, But Christ their legion hath dispersed;

He brake the age-bound chains of hell; The bars from heaven's high portals fell.

To each of these couplets is added a joyous call to praise and the ejaculatory Hallelujah! This is hymnody at its best. It does not seek to reveal anything; it assumes that the facts are already known, and sets them forth in a manner that makes praise and song the natural result.

THEOLOGY SET TO MUSIC

By A.W Tozer

Just as the book of Psalms is a lyric commentary on the Old Testament, set to the music of warm personal devotion, so our great Christian hymns form a joyous commentary on the New Testament.

While no instructed Christian would claim for any hymn the same degree of inspiration that belongs to the Psalms, the worshiping singing soul is easily persuaded that many hymns possess an inward radiance that is a little more than human. If not inspired in the full and final sense, they are yet warm with the breath of the Spirit and sweet with the fragrance of myrrh and aloes and cassia out of the ivory palaces.

In the hymns all the basic doctrines of the Christian faith are celebrated. Were the Scriptures to be destroyed or made inaccessible to the Church, it would not be too difficult to extract from our hymns a complete body of Bible doctrine. This would, of course, lack the authority of the inspired Word, but it might well serve in a dark hour to keep alive the faith of our fathers. As long as the Church can sing her great hymns she cannot be defeated; for hymns are theology set to music.

Hymns do not create truth, nor even reveal it; they celebrate it. They are the response of the trusting heart to a truth revealed or a fact accomplished. God does it and man sings it. God speaks and a hymn is the musical echo of His voice.

THE BUCK STOPS HERE MR. OBAMA

It is time we as Christians take a stand.

The time to back down when our leaders and governments tell us to do something that is against God's word - is over.

We are to turn the other cheek when we are persecuted, tried for our faith, when witnessing to a lost and backslidden world. But when Presidents and Congressmen and even Church leaders tell us to sin, to break God's rules, turning the other cheek is not an option.

Or would you rather sin against God because President Obama says it's ok.

The time is coming - VERY SOON - when our government and leaders are going to pass laws that will destroy Christian freedoms in this country.

You will be forced to accept or stand against ------

Homosexuality
Sex outside of Marriage
Other cults and religions as other ways to get to Heaven

And many more issues that the Bible clearly says is wrong. Beloved, if God says these and other things are SIN and not to even fellowship with people who do them, do you honestly think he is going to "wink" at your lack of backbone when you can't tell your leaders and others, "NO, I pray for the people caught in those sins, but they are wrong, they will send you to Hell, and I can't accept these things as okay"!

You must prepare to take a stand. I am not talking about joining a picket line or signing your name to a petition. I am talking about standing like Daniel in the lion's den, like the 3 Hebrew boys at the furnace, and Joshua infront of a wicked people. Take a stand, and I promise their will be the God of Heaven standing beside you.

It is most important that you stand, your very walk with God to Heaven depends on it.

WE SAY NO TO YOU -- MR. OBAMA!

And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD. (Joshua 24:15)

There are precedents all over scripture where when the laws of the land conflict with the law of God, the people chose the law of God. Joshua, in our reference, made a stand with the people that no matter what happened, and who came in his path, he would follow what God has told him to do.

Daniel, the beloved prophet, made a stand when the king asked him to eat unclean food God said not to touch. He told the jailers to just feed him beans and water and watch us grow stronger and fatter than those eating the king’s meat. By doing this, God blessed Daniel and his friends beyond measure. My statement to you today is this; when the government, kings and leaders ask you to break a law and sin against God with their laws and decree, you are commanded to follow God first, no one else.

I must tell you, we have in leadership today people who do not care about keeping the laws of God. President Obama has already stated in many speeches he does not agree with the God of the Christian Bible, nor will he let it govern his actions. President Obama’s policies and laws have an agenda behind them that are going to make you, Christian, choose who you will serve, because his socialistic policies will go directly against what God has said to do and not to do. Mark my words, he is not your Christian friend.

We are to obey the laws of the land as good Christians, UNTIL they go against the word of God, then we have no obligation. The election is over. It is too late now to “cry over split milk” and try to do something against this socialistic, unchristian government. The people made their choice, just like they did with Saul in the Bible (read the book of Samuel). But you Christian, you have a duty to say to Mr. Obama, and his government, NO! I will not stand with you on these issues God said is wrong and sin! I will not say yes because you, Mr. Obama say it is okay. God will be my final judge!

Pray for your leaders, but you must take a stand against them when they are asking you to sin. Remember, there is a God above who is watching which side you take. If you don’t believe this to be true, I suggest you read “FOXE’S BOOK OF CHRISTIAN MARTYRS” and find out for yourself, many people have had to take a stand against corrupt and evil governments and leaders, at the price of their lives. Let us be like Joshua, and make a stand that we and our house are going to serve the Lord.

The "Heart" of the Matter

"Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life." - Proverbs 4:23.

God has a plan and a destiny for your life.....and so does Satan. And the plan and destiny that God has is completely opposite of the one that Satan has for your life.

But what if I told you there is one thing that both God and Satan want in your life. Yes....it's true. And it's the one thing that is the key to determining which plan and destiny....God or Satan's....prevails......your heart.

Beloved, your heart is what's at stake in this eternal war between God and His will for your life vs. Satan and his will for your life. It is the deciding factor in where you will be at the end of days.....and that decision is completely yours to make.

"Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness! No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon." - Matthew 6:19-24.

Beloved, in the very near future, the battle for your heart will intensify as never before. Things that you believed would never tempt you will suddenly become huge obstacles....old habits, desires - things that you believed you had overcome once and for all will rise up again with such voracity - you will be overwhelmed and succumb......unless you are on your guard!

Beloved, this is a prophetic warning......please do not take it lightly. The restraint is being lifted....Satan will gain more freedom.....for a period of time the darkness will seem to be prevailing.....and those who do not heed the warning of Proverbs 4:23 will perish.

We will end this message with the words of a song Christian artist Steve Green wrote many years ago - let these words burn into your soul -

Oh, be careful little eyes what you see
Oh, be careful little eyes what you see
For the Father up above Is looking down in love
Oh, be careful little eyes what you see
What appears to be harmless glance...
Can turn to romance
And homes are divided
Feelings that should never have been
Awakened within
Tearing the heart in two
Listen, I beg of you
Guard your Heart
Guard your Heart
Don't trade it for treasure
Don't give it away
Guard your Heart
Guard your Heart
As a payment for pleasure
It's high price to pay
For a soul that remains sincere with conscience clear
Guard your Heart
The human heart is easily swayed
And often betrayed at the hand of emotion
You dare not leave the outcome to chance
You must choose in advance
Or live with the agony
Such needless tragedy
Guard your Heart
Guard your Heart
Don't trade it for treasure
Don't give it away
Guard your Heart
Guard your Heart
As a payment for pleasure
It's high price to pay
For a soul that remains sincere with conscience clear
Guard your Heart

SIN ADDICTION AND ITS CURE

By A.W. Tozer

We must be careful, however, that we do not . . . Create the impression that sin is an accident, a disease, a poison unintentionally imbibed. If sin is a disease it is like alcoholism, one that is chosen, bought and voluntarily swallowed. A steer is not responsible for poisoning himself on locoweed, but men are endowed with intelligence and ability to distinguish good from evil; they are therefore not to be excused either for their sin or for the terrible results of it.

Men are indeed accountable for their sins, and their responsibility is twofold. First they are morally obligated to choose the good and reject the evil, and they will be brought to severe and certain judgment for their failure to do it.

Second, because God has in Christ provided a cure, they are responsible to humble themselves and seek forgiveness and cleansing at the fountain opened for all men by the hard dying of Jesus Christ on the Roman cross.

"If any man will," said Jesus, and in so saying swept away all excuses and made every man accountable for his future as well as for his past. For in spite of what sin has done to us, we are yet able to exercise a choice unto eternal life; and we are responsible for our choice, whether it be right or wrong.

THAT POISONOUS SIN WEED

By A.W. Tozer

Sin is a poisonous weed that throws the whole nature out of order. The inner life disintegrates; the flesh lusts after forbidden pleasures; the moral judgment is distorted so that often good appears evil and evil good; time is chosen over eternity, earth over heaven and death over life.

This in large measure accounts for the vivid and colorful language employed by the prophets and apostles to describe the effects of sin. "The whole head is sick, and the whole heart faint. From the sole of the foot even unto the head there is no soundness in it; but wounds, and bruises, and putrifying sores" (Isaiah 1:5–6, KJV). This is a sample from Isaiah. A dozen pages of quotations equally as strong could be taken from the other prophets and psalmists.

The New Testament is generally thought to be milder than the Old, but we have only to read Christ's indictment of the Pharisees to discover how wrong such a notion is. Peter, John and Jude dip their pens in liquid fire to do justice to the blazing wrath of God against sin, while Paul traces the serpentine path of sin through the human system and proves how confused and morally self-contradictory the heart is that has not been separated from its iniquity.

THE ULTIMATE TEST OF FAITH

THE ULTIMATE TEST OF FAITH

By David Wilkerson

There comes a time in the life of every believer—as well as in the church—when God puts us to the ultimate test of faith. It’s the same test Israel faced on the wilderness side of the Jordan. What is this test?

It is to look at all the dangers ahead—the giant issues facing us, the high walls of affliction, the principalities and powers that seek to destroy us—and to cast ourselves totally on God’s promises. The test is to commit ourselves to a lifetime of trust and confidence in his Word. It’s a commitment to believe that God is bigger than all our problems and enemies.

Our heavenly Father isn’t looking for a faith that deals with one problem at a time. He’s looking for a lifetime faith, a lifelong commitment to believe him for the impossible. This kind of faith brings a calm and rest to our soul, no matter what our situation. And we have this calm because we’ve settled once and for all, “My God is bigger. He is able to bring me out of any and all afflictions.”

Our Lord is loving and longsuffering, but he won’t allow his people to dwell in unbelief. You may have been tested time after time and now the time has come for you to make a decision. God wants faith that endures the ultimate test, a faith that won’t allow anything to shake you from trust and confidence in his faithfulness.

There is so much theology surrounding the topic of faith. Simply put, we can’t conjure it up. We can’t create it by repeating, “I believe, I really believe….” No, faith is a commitment we make to obey God. Obedience reflects belief.

As Israel faced Jericho, the people were told not to say a word, but simply to march. These faithful believers didn’t whisper to themselves, “Help me to believe, Lord. I so want to believe.” No, they were focused on the one thing God asked of them: to obey his Word and go forward.

That is faith. It means setting your heart to obey all that is written in God’s Word, without questioning it or taking it lightly. And we know that if our hearts are determined to obey, God will make sure his Word to us is clear, without confusion. Moreover, if he commands us to do something, he’ll supply us with the power and strength to obey: “Let the weak say, I am strong” (Joel 3:10). “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might” (Ephesians 6:10).

YOUR NOT IN CONTROL, SOMEONE ELSE IS!

And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye?
(ACTS 19:15)

There are forces at work in this world that most Christians really don’t understand. Oh, we have thousands of books and materials on “Spiritual Warfare” explaining the 5 steps and 10 ways to beat the devil and kick him around like a WWF wrestler, and with pride proclaim, “I am in command!” How ignorant we are of what really is going on behind the scenes.

Now, before you misunderstand me, Scripture does state we have authority, as children of God, over the enemy, and I firmly teach that. But, what is being taught in our churches as authority, and Biblical authority, is not the same thing. And, I must warn you, if you are playing around with the devil, you put you and your family in jeopardy! Satan is not some cartoon character that we can play around with.

Our scripture reference today proves this. In this story, seven sons of a high priest named Sceva, were out performing “Exorcisms”, you know, those bogus rituals you see on movies by people who have no true authority, to cast out and command demons. These sons thought that the power was in the ritual, a command, a word spoken simply because Jesus said it. Listen to me today, you do not have power over devils and demons because you shout loud sayings from the Bible, scream and chant, that means nothing to Satan. You have power over Satan because you have power with God, because you not only know Jesus, But He (Jesus) knows you by name, his spirit lives and burns in your soul, and you are anointed with his presence. It is his presence plus his word, which gives you authority and protection, it works no other way. You can’t have one without the other.

There are not many forces at work, there are only 2, the force of God, and the forces of evil and these two are at war as we speak over the souls of men and women. Which side are you on? Better yet, which side are you letting control you? If you are not submitting to the will and leadership of the Spirit of God, and his word, in every area of you life, then you are controlled by the other, evil. And let me say this, SATAN AND HIS DEMONS WILL NEVER, EVER BE YOUR FRIEND!

They only want to destroy you. Run to protection today, run to Jesus. Do you feel concerned in some way that you are open to attack? That is your cue from the spirit of God that you need to come closer to Jesus in your life. Let go of that pet sin, stop the rebellion in your life. You cannot defeat Satan; it took a risen Saviour to do that. And you must be in his protection to not end up like the sons of Sceva, beaten and wounded. Run to Jesus now!

God does not have a "Plan B" (Part Two)

"Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ..." - Philippians 1:6

Now, let's consider the lie so many believers have fell victim to of messing things up so bad that God has "wrote them off' or "changed the plan"....remember...."whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son," (Romans 8:29). As God knew the end from the beginning, so also He knew His children before they were even born! And God chose them based on that foreknowledge. God created Adam - knowing Adam would eat the forbidden fruit, God called Abraham - knowing Abraham was an habitual liar, God chose Jacob - knowing Jacob would steal his brother's birthright and blessing, God anointed David - knowing David would commit adultery, God chose Thomas - knowing Thomas was a sceptic, God chose Paul - knowing he would first be Saul the Persecutor, and the list goes on.....

But one of the best illustrations for our topic today is Peter. Peter....the "maverick" disciple of New Testament Christianity - the first one to walk on the water with Jesus - the first one to proclaim Jesus as the "Messiah, the Son of the living God" - the first one to preach the Gospel on the day of Pentecost - the first one to declare to Jesus, "I will lay down my life for thy sake."(John 13:37). But we must remember....he was also Peter - the one who was rebuked by Paul for being a hypocrite - the one who was openly rebuked by Jesus for speaking under the influence of Satan - and the one who denied even knowing the Lord three times on the night Jesus was betrayed.

God not only shared Peter's greatest moments of faith for all to read; but He also paraded Peter's greatest moments of failure for all to read as well. We may wonder - why does God show His most devoted servants in their greatest victories, only to show us their greatest moments of failure and weakness on the very next page? It is not because God gets any satisfaction from seeing His children reflected in the worse light of humanity. It is to teach His children a truth that will grant them one of the greatest victories in the walk of life.

Doubtless, Peter meant every word he stated to Jesus on the night Jesus declared that all would forsake him. Peter was truly sincere when he told the Lord he would rather die with Him than live without Him. Jesus knew Peter would deny Him, would swear away his Galilean heritage to save his own neck. As a matter of fact, Jesus knew Peter would do this very thing when He called Peter to follow Him the very first time - and He still chose him. But after denying His Lord three times, Peter thought all was lost - that he had committed a betrayal even worst than Judas had - and had it not been for the fact that Jesus had prayed for Peter, this failure would have driven Peter in his despair to react to his shame and disgrace the very same way that Judas had done. But it was the choice Peter had to make during his greatest confrontation that we want to focus on -

"This is now the third time that Jesus shewed himself to his disciples, after that he was risen from the dead. So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs. He saith to him again the second time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my sheep. He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep." - John 21:14-17.

Many sermons have been preached regarding the scriptures stated above. Many have stated that the reason Jesus had to ask Peter three times. "Do you love me?", is because Peter denied the Lord three times. This may be true. But the greatest message we should glean from this confrontation is one you may never have heard before. Jesus was giving Peter a choice - a choice that would govern his faith the rest of his life. And it would also give Peter one of the greatest weapons of warfare against the enemy in the days and years to come. "Peter, do you still love me? Then feed my sheep. Peter, do you understand? Peter, will you believe? - Despite your failure, My love for you is still the same. Despite your betrayal, My plan for you has not changed. Regardless of the fact that you feel as if you have committed a sin that now disqualifies you, My plan for your life is still the same."

"For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance." - Romans 11:29.

Beloved, don't believe the lie of Satan - that you have "went too far" and cannot come back - that even if you do return, "it will never be the same". That because of your faults, your failures, your horrible mess up, that even if you make it to heaven, there will only be some sort of "consolation" prize waiting for you. "Don't you understand? Will you believe? " The plan and calling God has for your life has not changed. It has been and always will be the same. The plan and calling God had for you the day you were saved is the same one He will have for you the day you die!

"The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand." - Psalm 37:23 & 24.

A word from the Lord for all you "misfits" out there - "Rejoice and lift those heads that hang low - for I am the Lord, and I still love you! I have still called you for My purpose! You are still My Beloved. You are still My son! You are still My daughter! And My plan for you is still the same!"

Beloved, the real victory is not showing up in heaven with a flawless record - free from battle scars, failures, self-inflicted wounds - it is that, despite the battle scars, despite the failures, despite the self-inflicted wounds -we still made it home! So rejoice in the Lord always...and again, I say rejoice!

"Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth. Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." - Romans 8:33-39.

Beloved, God has no "Plan B"!

A WARNING FROM OUR LORD

And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but unto him that blasphemeth against the Holy Ghost it shall not be forgiven. (Luke 12:10)

I want to speak to you today about an attack on God that is so horrible, it is one that God says he will not forgive. And listen to me, if you are not forgiven of God, you will not spend eternity with God.

We have ministers, if you want to call them that, which is preaching a doctrine that says you cannot build a church on the book of Acts. They say that the church and the New Testament was in flux, in transition, from old to new, and flukeish, weird things happened then that are not meant to happen anymore. This is how they explain away certain things out of their life and church that are not there, because they take a high price of pure living and faith to receive, and they don’t want to do that price.

Can you imagine this? If parts of the Bible cannot be used for instruction, correction, and emulation in all areas of our life and church, then none of it is any good, because it is corrupted! But these teachers and preachers of powerless gospel tell this to congregations every morning. It is no wonder that miracles, healings, and powerful salvations have ceased in our church, we have allowed these liars to RAPE us of truth Jesus died to give.

What are these preachers saying that are not supposed to happen anymore?

THE BAPTISM OF THE HOLY GHOST

THE GIFT OF SPEAKING IN TONGUES (ALSO A HEAVENLY LANGUAGE)

PRAYING FOR MIRACLES

PRAYING FOR MIRACLE HEALINGS

Listen to me beloved, I am not preaching a denomination here, for I am not aligned to such manmade divisions. But you will find these lies preached in most major METHODIST, BAPTIST, SEVENTH DAY ADVENTIST churches and all their different denominations. It has been Satan’s job to rob us of truth and power from God that we need to live Christian lives for him. And he has done his job in these manmade, poisonous denominations. Don’t misunderstand me, there are some good hearted people caught up in this mess, and I pray that these people are helped by God, but this is a LIE!

YOU CAN BUILD YOUR LIFE, YOUR CHURCH, AND YOUR MINISTRY, ON THE BOOK OF ACTS!!!!!!!!

The baptism of the Holy Ghost, something separate from the salvation experience, is for you and you need it. The gifts of the spirit mentioned in Acts and in 1st Corinthians 12 are for you today, and you need it. I challenge any minister reading this out there to show me where it says plainly in the word these things were just for the apostles then! I challenge you reading this to find it! And when you don’t find such a word, because this is theology made up in the minds of powerless preachers to explain away the powerlessness in their ministry, what are you going to do about it?

The reason our churches are failing the call of God is because we no longer follow the example of the Book OF Acts. Jesus set up his church in the book of Acts, just the way he wanted it, and we were commanded to follow this example until he returned. How far we have fallen! Their was unity, love, financial security, and the real supernatural power of God their as they followed the example. And the Amen of God was their also as he added thousands of new converts to the church.

Don’t believe the lie of the denomination, the minister, the teacher that tells you the book of Acts and the power presentations in there are not for you today.

THE BAPTISM OF THE HOLY GHOST IS REAL – TODAY

THE GIFTS OF TONGUES,MIRACLES, HEALINGS ARE REAL – TODAY

THE BOOK OF ACTS (ALL OF IT) IS OUR ROAD MAP TO CHURCH BUILDING – TODAY

Be careful, Satan would love to get you to blaspheme the spirit of God, and speak against what I am telling you, for he knows it is the one thing God will not forgive (Matthew 12)

IS IT HAPPENING IN YOUR CHURCH PASTOR? Or are you actually preaching against the Holy Ghost?

IS THESE THINGS HAPPENING IN YOUR LIFE BELIEVER? Or have you let pride and false teachers tell you it is not real?

I challenge you, all of you, put your preacher, your denomination, on the line and read the book of Acts for your self. You will find both do not line up together, you will have to choose, I hope you choose the right thing.

God does not have a "Plan B" (Part One)

"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end." - Jeremiah 29:11

Most everyone can think of a time in his/her life when a choice was presented of which the outcome would vastly alter the course of his/her future. You may even be able to think of a time in your recent past when a choice you made had that very effect. Some people go through life with "regrets", wishing he/she had a certain choice to make all over again; and, if so, he/she would have chose an entirely different outcome.

The fact of the matter is we encounter situations on a daily basis where the choices we make change the course of the day. Some are so small we barely even notice them - the smile we pass along to a stranger - a random act of kindness to a fellow commuter on the way to work - stopping for coffee at McDonald's instead of Starbucks.

However, there are those opportunities - confrontations - temptations - trials - that present themselves to us and a "knee-jerk" reaction, a hasty decision, or even a long-contemplated choice so drastically changes the direction of our lives, one can only wonder "where would I be right now if I had chosen differently"?

"Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me, declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure..." - Isaiah 46:9&10

Beloved, although we may wonder how differently our lives would be had we made a different choice; maybe even stating "if I only knew then what I know now", God never has in the past, nor will He ever have to do so in the future. One of the distinct characteristics that make Him God is the fact He in omniscient - He knows everything - past, present and future. He created this universe knowing its end from the very beginning. He knows exactly where you are today, where you will be tomorrow, and where you will be at the end of days.

"According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love..." - Ephesians 1:4

There are countless souls that have fell by the wayside because of the lie from Satan declaring that they have went too far - that he/she has messed up too big or committed some sin so heinous that God has wrote him/her off and that there is no hope. Some have even been deceived into believing that God, in His infinite mercy, will still allow them into heaven; however, the original plan/calling He had for them has been "lost" or "changed" into a plan/calling of a smaller nature or lesser impact. Beloved, these are lies from the devil that have no truth in them whatsoever!

"And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified." - Romans 8:28-30.

By the grace of God and the help of the Holy Spirit, we will address the issue of "predestination". According to the scriptures stated above, predestination is a valid doctrine found in the Word of God. However, we must dispel the idea of predestination according to the old Puritan belief - one that dictates that everyone is born either going to heaven or going to hell and nothing that person can do will change that. A better word would be "predetermination". God has a predetermined plan for each believer's life that will ultimately end at the foot of His throne.

Imagine a person planning a trip from New York to Los Angeles. This person will have to make several choices regarding the trip. There are several routes that person could take - routes that would contain different sites, different locales in which to eat, spend the night, etc. Then, there is also the "unforeseen" obstacles and delays that person will encounter on the way to Los Angeles - road construction, flat tires, mechanical problems, etc. Then, throw into that equation an enemy that does not want to see this person reach the destination, placing along the route distractions, detours, and problems - hoping to make this person give up the trip due to frustration, long delays, costly problems. The person planning the trip from New York to Los Angeles will have to make several choices on how to react to the unforeseen delays, obstacles, changes in the route that is taken. This person could choose to turn back, determining the trip is "not worth it". "too hard", not what he/she "thought it would be like", etc. Or, if the person is determined to make it, despite the problems and delays, that person would eventually reach the destination if he/she chooses not to give up.

God has a "predetermined" plan for every believer that leads from the cross to the throne. Of course, there will been unforeseen delays, obstacles, and choices to make while on this journey. And Satan will do everything God will allow to upset the believer, hinder the believer, attempting to cause the believer to determine the journey is "not worth it", "too hard", not what we "thought it would be like". But if the believer is determined to make it to heaven, the grace of God will assure the believer gets home if he/she does not give up.

"Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ..." - Philippians 1:6

BE STEADFAST, UNMOVEABLE

NOTE FROM THE WATCHMEN: I JUST HAD TO SHARE THIS WITH YOU, AS IT GOES RIGHT ALONG WITH WHAT WE HAVE BEEN TALKING ABOUT THE LAST FEW DAYS. PLEASE READ AND FEEL FREE TO PASS THIS ALONG TO ALL YOU THINK WOULD NEED IT. THIS IS BY HUMBLE PASTOR DAVID WILKERSON.

We have learned from Isaiah 49 that the Lord knows your battle. He has fought it before you. And it is no sin to endure thoughts that your labor has been in vain, or to be cast down with a sense of failure over shattered expectations. Jesus himself experienced this and was without sin.

It is very dangerous, however, to allow these hellish lies to fester and enflame your soul. Jesus showed us the way out of such despondency with this statement: “I have labored in vain…yet surely my judgment is with the Lord, and my work with my God” (Isaiah 49:4, italics mine). The Hebrew word for judgment here is “verdict,” Christ is saying, in effect, “The final verdict is with my Father. He alone passes judgment on all that I’ve done and how effective I’ve been.”

God is urging us through this verse: “Stop passing a verdict over your work for me. You have no business judging how effective you’ve been. And you have no right to call yourself a failure. You don’t yet know what kind of influence you’ve had. You simply don’t have the vision to know the blessings that are coming to you.” Indeed, we won’t know many such things until we stand before him in eternity.

In Isaiah 49, Jesus heard the Father say in so many words: “So, Israel is not yet gathered. Yes, I called you to bring in the tribes, and that has not happened in the way you imagined it. But that calling was only a little thing compared to what is coming for you. It’s nothing in comparison to what I have in store. I’m going to make you now a light for the whole world. You’re going to bring salvation to the whole earth” (see Isaiah 49:5-6).

While the devil is lying to you, saying that all you’ve done is in vain, that you’ll never see your expectations fulfilled, God in his glory is preparing a greater blessing. He has better things in store, beyond anything you could think or ask.

We’re not to listen to the enemy’s lies any longer. Instead, we’re to rest in the Holy Spirit, believing him to fulfill the work of making us more like Christ. And we are to rise up from our despair and stand on this word: “Be ye stedfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord” (1 Corinthians 15:58).

HOW WONDERFUL OUR FATHER IS!!!!!

Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God? But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows. (Luke 12:6-7)

I am amazed at these verses of scripture. At the extent of the care and love that God places on us is mindboggling. Another instance in scripture Jesus says that not even one of these birds falls to the ground without our heavenly father knowing it's demise, (Matthew 10:29). What kind of love the Father has for us, is beyond human understanding. If we really think on these verses, then we must understand that God knows what we are going thru, and he cares, and never again can we say, does God really know what I am going thru?

I want to show you something, maybe you've never thought of. Please don't missunderstand what I am about to say, I take nothing away from our Lord and Saviour, Jesus, with this statement. His love is amazing by itself, but think about this, it was the plan of the Father, to execute his son on a cross for us. It was the plan of the Father to set in motion all these things from the garden of Eden to redeem us from the curse of Hell, eternal seperation from his presence. It was the plan of the Father, to create a race (The Jews) for which our Lord would come thru. It was ultimately The Father, God, behind all this, to save us and help us.

One of the most powerful verses in the Bible centers on a conversation in the garden with a risen from the dead Jesus and Mary. Jesus gives the command to Mary to go tell the disciples this word; "Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God." (John 20:17). Think about this, for such a long time, God was seperated from us due to sin, no way to walk and talk with us like he did Adam in the garden. But thanks to Jesus fulfilling the plan of God, that was now restored. This is what he meant by that statement, now his father was ours, now his God was ours.

I ask you a question, did not Jesus say it was expedient that he go so the Holy Ghost could come down? (John 16:7) And does not the Bible teach us that God is a spirit? (John 4:24) Why do you think this trading places was so important? Not only was it meant to impower the believer with power from on high, to be witnesses and live holy lives, but also, so the Father could once again have this fellowship lost to him in the garden. It is the Father behind it all. What love he has for you and I!

Worship him today. Don't go into his presence today asking for things and telling him what you want to do, go into his presence just to love on him. Thank him for his marvellous plan in his son Jesus, to redeem us back into the family. We have such a wonderful Father in God, don't take him for granted today.

RUNNING FROM GOD

I want to speak to you this morning that is carrying something against God. Now, before you dismiss this, and say; “I don’t hate God with anything”, I am talking about much more than just someone carrying hatred and anger against God. And I know there are some people out there who are angry, because they feel God abandoned them in some way. Please, let me speak to you this morning, hear me out in what I have to say. What will it hurt to listen to what I want to tell you? You have nothing to lose, yet.

First, let me speak to the angry ones. To you, who feel God failed you on a promise, left you for dead, I have a word, and this is for you. The Bible says this; “Jesus said unto her, (Martha, Lazarus’s sister) I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:” (John 11:25). You know this story here, how Lazarus died and how Jesus purposefully waited 4 days too late to come to him. It was part of a plan. And that plan was to show people that you must have faith in God. We as humans have this problem called “Time limits”. We fall into this trap of thinking something has to be done at a certain time or all hope is lost. To Martha, all hope was lost because Lazarus died. But we serve a God who is not bound by the power of Death, or time limits. Even after rotting and stinking in a grave for 4 days, Jesus commands three little words; “Lazarus, come forth!” (John 11:43), and Lazarus rises from death and walks out! You must believe, you must not give in to giving up. God allows bad timing, to show you he doesn’t have to move before time is up, he controls it. Whatever way you think he has failed, or not kept his promise, don’t believe it! Time has not ran out, the promise you need and the thing you need God to do can still happen, but if you give up faith all is truly lost.

Last, let me speak to those who aren’t carrying anger, but grief. Those who feel they are to far gone for God to care or reach. You made a mistake, and you’ve suffered greatly for it. Something happened in your past, and if you just had seen it coming, everything would have been alright. But, it blind-sighted you and knocked you to the ground. I am talking to someone directly right now, and hear me; God is reaching to you thru this word today. Right about now you are feeling funny inside, and you are feeling a weight in the middle of your chest. This is the gentle tug of the Holy Ghost beginning to speak to you. God has been like that father of the Prodigal son, waiting and looking for your return, ready to forgive you when you called. But sorrow and depression over the “Thing” that happened in your life kept you apart, not allowing you to call on him. I have a word for you from the Lord; “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28). He is also telling me to tell you this; “I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely: for mine anger is turned away from him.” (Hosea 14:4). I know it maybe hard to believe, but he is calling you back, before it is too late.

It is time to let these things go. God is willing and able to clean the slate and start brand new with you again. But you must meet him there, and give him a second chance as well.

ONE LAST WORD ON "NEGLECT"

FROM THE WATCHMEN: WE WANTED TO ADD ONE LAST WARNING ON THE "NEGLECT" ISSUE THAT WE MENTIONED A FEW DEVOTIONALS AGO. THIS WORD FROM PASTOR DAVID WILKERSON SAYS IT BEST. ENJOY AND TAKE WHAT HE SAYS TO HEART.

There is one thing I dread above all others and that is that I would drift away from Christ. I shudder at the notion that I would become slothful, spiritually neglectful, caught up in prayerlessness, and go for days without seeking God’s Word. In my travels around the world I have witnessed a “spiritual tsunami” of evil drifting. Entire denominations have been caught up in the waves of this tsunami, leaving in their wake the ruins of apathy. The Bible warns clearly that it’s possible for devoted believers to drift from Christ.

A Christian who goes after “peace and safety at any cost” and merely hangs onto salvation pays a high spiritual price. So, how can we guard against drifting from Christ and neglecting “so great a salvation”? Paul tells us how: “Give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip” (Hebrews 2:1).

God isn’t interested in our being able to “speed read” through His Word. Reading many chapters a day or trying to get through the Bible quickly may give us a good feeling of accomplishment. But what’s more important is that we “hear” what we read with spiritual ears, and meditate on it so that it’s “heard” in our hearts.

Staying steadfast in God’s Word was no small matter for Paul. He lovingly warns, “Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip” (Hebrews 2:1). He also says, “Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith: prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates” (2 Corinthians 13:5).

Paul isn’t suggesting to these believers that they’re reprobates. Rather, he’s urging them, “As lovers of Christ, test yourself. Take a spiritual inventory. You know enough about your walk with Jesus to know you’re loved by him, that he hasn’t turned from you, that you are redeemed. But ask yourself: How is your communion with Christ? Are you guarding it with all diligence? Are you leaning on him in your hard times?”

Perhaps you realize, “I see a bit of drifting in my life, a tendency to slumber. I know I’m praying less and less. My walk with the Lord isn’t as it should be.”

“We are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end” (Hebrews 3:14).

FIX YOUR EYES ON JESUS!

Every man has some contribution to make to your life if you know how to receive it; certain men will astonish you with their ability to answer your unexpressed question and tell you what is in your heart. But never attach yourself to any man as a parasite. Adopt no man as a guru. Apart from the inspired writers of Holy Scriptures no man is worthy of such confidence. The sweetest saint can be mistaken.

I repeat, never let any man become necessary to you. Christ alone is necessary. Apart from Him we are completely wretched; without Him we cannot live and dare not die. Our need of Him is real and vital and will outlast time and go on into eternity. That deep and desperate need is met by Christ so completely that when we have Him we need no one else. We may receive help from our fellow Christians as they from us, but our need for them is relative and fleeting. Let anyone become spiritually indispensable to us and we have deserted the Rock to build on shifting sand.

It requires deep consecration, I admit, and complete detachment from earthly interests to reach such a place of independence. And it is only after we become completely dependent upon God that we can walk without leaning on men. It takes much prayer and quiet contemplation to maintain the nice balance that will permit us to receive help from our fellow Christians and at the same time be sweetly independent of them. But we should not despair; it is not beyond the possibilities of grace. Not even for such weak Christians as we are.

NEGLECT OF GOD - PART 2

First of all, I must apologize as I bring everybody down from the “High” we were riding on yesterdays devotional; “Feed my sheep”, part #1 in the series the neglect of God. But I must address the last point in this issue. In this part #2, we must examine our side of the neglect issue.

It is obvious from the previous devotional that neglect is not in God’s vocabulary. Indeed, we see in scripture that God has provided every means possible to NOT ever be guilty of the sin of neglect. All thru the Old Testament, God kept providing a lifeline to fallen mankind by means of the blood of bulls and sheep. One historian wrote that the Kidron valley ran red, as if painted, by so much killing of animals and shedding their blood as a temporary offering to momentarily appease the Holiness of God. And God accepted these weak and putrid sacrifices, just to keep in touch with us.

He sent us prophet after prophet, to speak with us because we had no way to communicate with him. Then finally, after hundreds of years of putting up with temporary means, and animal sacrifices, that could never satisfy his curse pronounced in the garden of Eden, that the soul that sinneth shall surely die, he sent us his best, his PLAN A. He sent us Jesus. And be sure of one thing reader, everything Jesus did was not for his benefit, but for ours. Scripture records this; “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.” (Hebrews 12:2). Neglect from God? Let me put it this way, that phrase “joy that was set before him” is translated poorly. Let’s read it the right way, it goes like this; “who for INSERT YOUR NAME HERE, endured the cross, despising the shame.” Neglect from God? The Bible states;” Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him;” (Isaiah 53:10). God so loved this world that it gave him Joy to destroy his own son, knowing he would get many sons in return. He was not satisfied with just one son; he wanted many, so he gave his only begotten son to the curse of sin, to get you and me. I ask you, could you ever say God has neglected you? Never my friend!

But we have him haven’t we? Be honest, you will spend more time watching football, reading a book, watching a movie, putting overtime in for that precious dollar of yours than one hour with a God who bankrupted his supplies in Heaven to get to us. We will stand and shout and wave as some man throws a stupid ball across a field to another, but the house of God is as dead as a mortuary in worship and praise. God’s word teaches that to those who have been forgiven much loves that much more. I ask you, what has he cleaned up in you? What kind of dirty, filthy, horrid things has he set you free from? Has he took the broken and busted and unfixable thing called your life, and repaired it back to normal? Even better than that, has he took the thing that you thought was lost forever in your life and gave it back to you like it never left? He certainly did when he gave you his son Jesus. Make a commitment today to rid yourself of the sin of neglect.

Spend time with God in prayer. Read his word and begin to commune with the Holy Spirit every day. God gave you his best, his PLAN A, and he gave some of you reading this your PLAN A back in your life when you thought all was lost. Let’s don’t be guilty of shaking our nose of neglect in God’s face any longer.

NEGLECT OF GOD - PART 1

NOTE FROM THE WATCHMEN: THIS WILL BE A TWO PART SERIES ON THE PRESENT CONDITION OF THE CHURCH. AS I BEGAN TO FORMULATE WHICH ISSUE I WANTED TO SPEAK ON FIRST, I HAPPENED UPON PASTOR DAVID WILKERSON'S MORNING ADDRESS. I DON'T THINK I COULD SAY IT ANY BETTER ON ISSUE #1. TOMORROW - ISSUE #2, BE READY.

FEED MY SHEEP. - By David Wilkerson

When I asked the Holy Spirit to show me how to guard against neglect, he led me to consider Peter’s drifting and his eventual renewal. This man denied Christ, even cursing, telling his accuser, “I don’t know him.”

What had happened? What had brought Peter to that point? It was pride, the result of self-righteous boasting. This disciple had said to himself and others, “I could never grow cold in my love for Jesus. I’ve reached a place in my faith where I don’t have to be warned. Others may drift, but I will die for my Lord.”

Yet Peter was the first among the disciples to give up the struggle. He forsook his calling and returned to his old career, telling the others, “I’m going fishing.” What he really was saying is, “I can’t handle this. I had thought I couldn’t fail, but nobody ever failed God worse than I did. I just can’t face the struggle anymore.”

By that point, Peter had repented of his denial of Jesus. And he had been restored in Jesus’ love. Yet he was still a frayed man inside.

Now, as Jesus waited for the disciples to return to shore, an issue remained unsettled in Peter’s life. It wasn’t enough that Peter was restored, secure in his salvation. It wasn’t enough that he would fast and pray as any devoted believer would do. No, the issue that Christ wanted to address in Peter’s life was neglect in another form. Let me explain.

As they sat around the fire on shore, eating and fellowshipping, Jesus asked Peter three times, “Do you love me more than these others?” Each time Peter answered, “Yes, Lord, you know I do,” and Christ responded in turn, “Feed my sheep.” Note that Jesus didn’t remind him to watch and pray, or to be diligent in reading God’s Word. Christ presumed those thing had already been well taught. No, the instruction he gave Peter now was, “Feed my sheep.”

I believe that in that simple phrase, Jesus was instructing Peter on how to guard against neglect. He was saying, in essence, “I want you to forget about your failure, forget that you drifted from me. You’ve come back to me now, and I’ve forgiven and restored you. So it’s time to get your focus off of your doubts, failures and problems. And the way to do that is by not neglecting my people and to minister to their needs. As the Father has sent me, so I send you.”

ARE WE EVANGELICALS SOCIAL CLIMBING? (PART #2)

Christ: The Only Basis for Boasting

Traditionally Christianity has been the religion of the common people. Whenever the upper classes have adopted it in numbers, it has died. Respectability has almost always proved fatal to it.

The reasons back of this are two, one human and the other divine.

The second reason Christianity tends to decline as its devotees move up the social scale is that God will not respect persons nor share His glory with another. Paul sets this forth plainly enough in his First Corinthians epistle:

For the foolishness of God is wiser than man's wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man's strength.

Brothers, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth. But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. He chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are, so that no one may boast before him (1 Corinthians 1:25–29).
When God sent His Son to redeem mankind He sent Him to the home of a working man and He grew up to be what we now call a peasant. When He presented Himself to Israel and launched into His earthly ministry, He was rejected by the respectable religionists and had to look for followers almost exclusively from among the poor, plain people. When the Spirit came and the church was founded, its first members were the socially unacceptable. For generations the church drew her numbers from among the lower classes, individual exceptions occurring now and again, of which Saul of Tarsus was the most noteworthy.
